New Mexico GMU 56, 58, and 59

No elk permits on E-plus in any of the GMU's that you listed.

On A-plus list from last year the only ranch listed in those GMU's that had just a hair over 4000 acres got 3 MB permits and 1 F/IM permit. The other places in the 4000-4999 acre range got between 1 and 5 MB permits each.

I could not imagine a place that small getting 100 permits in any circumstance.

Yeah, I just made up the 100 number. A hypothetical question.

So the place is almost due north of Clayton up in the plateaus. Any hunting advice in that area?

Is it just a few miles north of Clayton or is it 20-30 miles north of Clayton?

Right around Clayton is awesome antelope country.....you might see an occasional elk but if its further North right on the Colorado/Oklahoma border then that is good elk country. They even have bighorn sheep up there.
