Default Bald eagles - Dec. 2021

From Lake Somerville. Mature male I believe and a distant juvenile.

Thank you. These were on the south side of the lake. There are 3 to 4 nesting pair on the lake including Nails Creek and Birch Creek. I have seen them both of the state parks. Spotting them is hit or miss.

Thanks for the info. Side note, we use to hunt on Sandstone Mountain in Llano before it was high fenced. Our camp was on the Llano river and I saw my first Bald Eagle there. It had a nest in a huge pecan tree by our camp. It would swoop down and pluck carp right out of the river, it was a magical site for a city kid from Houston!!

Beautiful Pics Bill and thanks for all the pics you share.

I'm taken by some of the large bird pics and how similar things are.

Look at the wing tip of the 787 and and the eagle. We've worked really hard at reverse engineering one of Gods creations.

If you watch these big birds when they're gliding, the wings work in a very similar way.

Beautiful pictures. Only seen eagles twice on a trip to Oregon, then saw one fly over me in Texas once.

Very nice!!!

I have Tilapia in my pond at the farm...they are dying now due to cold water temperatures and a pair of Bald Eagles are feasting on them.

I appreciate the additional comments by you guys.

The search for these birds continues. Soon will camp at Cagle on Lake Conroe to hopefully photograph some fishing and soaring over water.

I have been to another location of a nest in Brazos Co. but it is a good distance away from the road. The good thing is there are lakes on an old dairy farm nearby that they use and it brings them over the road. They are more patient than us humans however.

February brings a visit to the Washington Co. nest these birds were near.

There is still the nest in the Woodlands and in Tomball. These birds are everywhere in Texas now.

These were from a good distance but still shows they are here. First is Washington Co., then Tomball, and lastly, Brazos Co.
