They had their chance and the Bills blew it. Its not a one way game. Despite what you may think defense is a part of the team too. No perfect scenario for OT. I think the way it is now is as good as it will ever get.

Oh. I'm all about defense...was the capt of my HS team and moved over from offense my sophomore year to safety. Trust me, if I played for the chiefs I would have still wanted the opportunity to stop the bills with their possession.

It was such an entertaining game & man it would have been cool to see if they could have tied it back up...really good day of football regardless!! I was indifferent on both games, although I wasn't real jazzed for brady to see another SB. Hopefully these last games will deliver as well.

Here is a little tidbit of information about the OT rule.

In 2019 the Chiefs lost 37-31 in overtime to The Patriots with of course Tom Brady at quarterback. The Chiefs never got to touch the ball. In the following off season the Chiefs lobbied the NFL to change the overtime rules in order for each team to get at least one possession. Here is the proposal.

Here was the official suggestion from the Chiefs, via NFL Football Operations:

“Amend Rule 16 to (1) allow both teams the opportunity to possess the ball at least one time in overtime, even if the first team to possess the ball in overtime scores a touchdown; (2) eliminate overtime for preseason; and (3) eliminate overtime coin toss so that winner of initial coin toss to begin game may choose whether to kick or receive, or which goal to defend.”

The other team owners.....other than the Chiefs....were not interested in changing the rule. They did not even take a vote.

Here are Josh Allen's comments about the OT rules.

"The rules are what they are, and I can't complain about that 'cause if it was the other way around, we'd be celebrating, too," he said. "So, it is what it is. We didn't make enough plays tonight."

I think the overtime rule just needs to be changed for the playoffs. It serves it's purpose fine for the regular season, besides there are 17 games to sort your **** out in the reg season, if it comes down to a tie or OT loss, you don't belong. But there's no reason to end a playoff game in OT without both teams having the chance to put their offense on the field.

I enjoy watching Patrick Mahomes. He plays "backyard football" at a professional level.

Travis Kelce told him at the time out before the last play at 00.07 seconds that he wasn't going to run the called play route if the Bill's defense was playing the sideline strong. You can hear Mahomes during his cadence yell Do it Kels, do it, do it. Kelce ran the inside seam, Mahomes threw a perfect pass just as he was getting hit which set up the tieing field goal.

The O-line needs more attention than a head coaching change, which isn't going to happen. Would hate to sacrifice good draft picks just for another coach.

Hard to predict but a friend of ours who works for Mrs Benson as one of her auto dealer GM's and who knows a little bit about the insider stuff says that Peyton is very tight with Mrs Benson and is very loyal to her and the family. Don't know how much this means but if Peyton wants out of the Nola cesspool I'm sure Mrs Benson would understand. I would also venture that Peyton thinks more of the Benson family than he ever would the Jones. On the other hand money talks as it always does.

I'm not sure about the sewer that is NO, but the team is in the shape he put them in by paying Taysom Hill To be a gadget player, among other things. His personnel moves havn't been any better (potentially worse) than the Cowboys.

I don't believe Jerry will pay what it takes to get it done this year, but I bet he helps Payton get whatever TV job he wants, and they have some sort of agreement for the future in case he decides to part ways with McCarthy.

He just quit the Bensons, and Payton and Jerry have been very close since his previous time here in Dallas, and remain so. I know you hate the Jones family, but lets try to operate in reality.

His stock is higher than anyone's out there. What he did with the Saints this year was pretty amazing. Between Covid and no QB or receivers they still came close to making the playoffs. Had the Rams not choked against the 49'ers they would have. I hate seeing him leave the Saints. Can't disagree with him being a top coach but I hate to see his talent wasted with the Joneses . Jones will never see another SB win regardless who the coach is. Besides Cowboys has a worse QB than Saints had.

After watching and enjoying both the divisional and conference playoff games I have come to the conclusion that Dak will never be anything more than an average QB if that even. Of the QBs in the games I figure Dak can be compared to Gorapolo the most.

Both have average arms and are semi-mobile QBs. Both can make decent decisions given ample time. Neither makes good decisions or throws under pressure. How you pay Dak 40 mil per year is beyond crazy to me. It will be real interesting to see how much Gorapolo gets as his contract just ended.

As for the rest of the Boys, their lack of discipline has never been so outrageously evident. The Bengals O-line isn’t much better at pass blocking than the Boys and yet get very few penalties. Additionally, how can any head coach allow their team to commit 14 penalties for over 150 yds?? Lastly, if you don’t have a superstar QB why not get stud O-lineman instead of star receivers??

I'm firmly in the OL column, but a stud wider receiver could go after/increase the odds of a catch along with running good routes. They can keep the billion dollar running backs. If you have stud OL, a decent running back will work. As we've seen, the billion dollar running back doesn't do much without a crease.
