That's a dam shame. ESPN said the shooter got his head kicked in by the crowd and was taken into custody. At least he didn't get away.

Man that is wild. I can't imagine why somebody would try to kill him - a true "favorite son" of the DR - maybe the most famous guy in the country. Was the shooter just a random crazy guy? Was Big Papi involved in something nefarious? An old grudge of some kind?

DR is definitely no longer safe.

Between tainted drinks/booze in the minibars (or flat out poisoned drinks) and whatever this is I believe we will add DR to the same category as Jamaica - not going to vacation there!
