    Fathers & Sons Live 2018

I’m late gettin this thread kicked off this year but here it is non the less.
I got home from work Monday night and amongst the East Texas torrential down pour managed to make it to the river bottom stand with Talen Tuesday evening.
No issues getting in but getting out was a different story.
We had an awesome hunt, including a East Texas Mega Spike and multiple does.
After abandoning the ranger due to bridge failure, wading out to the truck, fighting off a few water moccasins and giving the water a few days to fall, we are back at it.
I’ll have the opportunity to hunt with my Dad again this year so I’m gonna keep this thing going till a Dad or Son kills something.

Been in the stand since 5:00, (Post Bridge Repair) and we got deer on us already.

    Tuesday’s Hunt.

    Today’s hunt.
Deer still feeding 100 yards north.

I’ve been asked that several times.
First hunt of the year. He fed at 85 yards for 1hr. I gave T the green light to shoot him but he passed because we had deer pouring out and he was sure a bigger buck was gonna present itself.

Honestly, it’s a blessing he didn’t. Water was rising fast and we had to wade out waist deep to get to the truck.

He won’t get a second pass.

                            Down to 1 Doe feeding.
Everything has milled off in the timber.

Disclamier.. This is an MLD lease so we are gun hunting today.
When the water drops some more we will be hunting some Gun/Bow blinds as well.
