Read the book. It goes into horrific detail about what the survivors of X-ray went through following the engagement. Possibly one of the most chaotic and tragic experiences American soldiers ever experienced. I’ve watched the movie several times and go back to the book occasionally as it is difficult to wrap my mind around what they went through.

Equally depressing is the movie Stalingrad.

I was about to say this. I had a yellow lab at the time who has since passed. It was tough for me to watch.

Marley and Me gets me every time. For a while it was my kids' favorite movie and was basically watched on repeat. I got to the point where I had to leave the room for the ending every time.
