Dead, but not for 2-3 days. High shot.

      Dead in under 50 yards.
Unique? He wasn't a big bugger like you like to shoot.

          I'm going with dead.

My last interpretation was way off. It looked like a pass through so, I will go with dead. Even though the shot looked high because he ducked, it did have a downward angle and I think it caught both lungs. But I would not put any money on my thoughts.

High back end if the lungs. Dead.

Uniquely, he died in the road so you didn't have to drag him out [emoji3]

Hrrrrmmmm...if I say you’re on the right track, you’ll know I found him.

Thanks. I enjoy doing them. Especially the hunting part.

                    So here’s what happened...

Those who said dead within 40 yards were correct.
He tried to duck but just didn’t get low enough.

The unique part, is what I discovered before finding him. I had trailed him to the top of the levee directly behind the feeder. He had gone over the levee and straight down to the creek. The creek is pretty deep there. I just couldn’t figure out where he had gone after entering the water. Didn’t take too long to figure out though. Look close!!

I had to fish him out.

He was bigger than I thought.

Well done MrDude. Thanks for sharing. I was gonna suppose high shoulder and loss.

                      Great shooting and great pig!

I’m thinking you made a good enough shot to probably get the lungs. He probably will run to water. If you have a water source within 40 yards, that’s where I’d be looking. Just a guess though, but you may find him dead there.

I figured that shot for a couple inches further back in the lungs. Maybe even liver. Good to know there's more margin for error if you hit them high and back!

Entry here. May not be as far back as it appears on the video. I sure thought it was further back.

Good eye on finding him in the creek, that would have been an easy one to miss! (from looking at the pics). Congrats!

Hog whisperer. Now you’ve got them trained to take a bath before recovery. Well played Sir.
