    If you go with grease it will collect dust dirt.
    Dry graphite powder will not no smell either.

      I use silicone lubricant cause it doesn’t smell

        I've used just a few drops of chain oil after cleaning the rust off. Will usually last for a couple of years.

              dead down wind makes a lubricant that I keep in my back pack.

                Yes and we also use it in salt pump bearings at 700 a container that lasts about 6 weeks.
