Feed pen shape

Just got news that we have to put up feed pens. Was wondering, does the shape effect the deer getting in em? I'd heard round is better than square( i guess deer don't like corners). I'll be using 16ft hog panels ( if square, probably 2 per side) THANKS.

Octagon works best........actually, no, shape has no bearing.

Barbed wire square. Easier to tension corners and keep tight.
Panels I like round or oval.

I have one round and one rectangle. Neither seem to bother them.

Square is fine and 2 panels on each side like you are saying will be plenty of space

Imo 20 is the perfect size. No such thing as overkill on a feed pen.

If you are using panels then round gives more square footage than square.

Also round will help prevent deer that get into fights from being backed into the corner where one might do major damage to the other.

I use 10/pen 50’radius but I know 20 would b better
