    Vortex vs Leopold

Wanting new scopes for two of my rifles. Which would you go with in each of these match ups? I went with these models and brands because they're within my budget.

Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40mm vs Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40mm

Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 PA vs Leupold VX-Freedom 6-18x40 CDS 30mm

Same here. Vortex isn't bad, but you need to get higher in their lines to be a decent scope to me.

Whats the difference between Leupold's VX-Freedom and Rifleman series?

I’m not a vortex hater but out of your options go Leupold.

Might also consider the VX-3 line there are some real solid options in there with 30mm tube and CDS if that matters.

Leupold on both. But I’d go freedom on the 4x12 over the rifleman

I prefer leupold, look around as there are close out and blemished models around that can be had for a nice discount. Eurooptics and Natchess are good to browse

Freedom series uses the previous generation VX3 glass. Rifleman is lower quality glass.
