We had this problem with cows getting in our pens for protein several years back. We ran two strand of barbwire above pens and watched cow jump it without even hitting the wire.. our pens are 10 to 14 panels each. Thank god our landowner wanted us feeding the protein so he built a barbwire fence around our pens 10 yards out from pen with a gap we could open to drive through. Never have had a problem since.

I’ve had them jump horse panels. They don’t clear the panels and crush them down.
I’ve done better with barbed wire fencing.
I’ve also not put anything up and just don’t put out anything but corn in my feeders. The cow haven’t messed with anything since they can’t pick the corn off the ground.
Once they get to the feed and get used to it, hardly any panel will keep em out. If you put a strand of barbed wire up about 6” above the top of the panel when you put up the pen, you won’t have a problem. That is unless the rancher is not taking care of his cattle and giving them the complete nutrition they need.
