The whole thing worked like a charm. I got in with the rain, stayed boxed up until it stopped, got set up and ready, 20min before dark a nice buck comes in, stops at 25yds right outside the feeder pen, gives me plenty of time to shoot, jumps in, feeds til dark, and quietly leaves. Wrong buck though. I left most of my stuff in the blind. We’ll try again in the morning.

Love that screenshot conversation though. Especially since that hasn’t been my facebook profile pic for months. Seems you screen shot that with the intent of coming here to cause problems. Hang around little buddy. Get your pencil out and you might learn how to shoot a nice deer. Thanks for stopping in. One of my favorite pics of me and my daughter too

The pic even shows that he screen shot a conversation from 3 months ago. Don't worry about them. Thanks for the live hunt. And your convo with your wife is hilarious and I get the same kind of response when I try that.

I fell asleep in the recliner watching Smurfs with my little girl last night. Phone battery is low, pretty sure my kidneys are bleeding, and my back is killing me. I’m 45min out and heading back to the same stabd as yesterday evening. Needinf a little luck on my side this morning. Gonna throw the phone on airplane mode si it’ll charge faster. i’ll check in when I head back to the stand.

Itís good light, only visitors so far are red birds. Wind is mostly south (a very good thing) but supposed to get SSE in the next hour or so. Heís been early every tike he came in the mornings, between 7:00-7:45am. If he doesnít show by 9 Iíll accept that I screwed it up and go about what I was doing yesterday.

Sun is starting to pop up and I’m betting this hunt is done. I’m gonna sit a while longer and go to the river like I’d planned yesterday. I’m still trying to figure that area out over there, it hunts really big. It could still happen here at any min but I’m having my doubts.

Momentum is key in crossing a mud hole like that, you could do it in 2wd drive with enough momentum, can't be a PU$$ all your life

Y’all don’t know how hard I thought about trying it at WTFO lol. Ran into the LO and he said he stuck his tractor there last weekend. Found a juicy little pinch point along the river with over cups abd pin oaks falling evertwhere. Trails on top of trails in there. 3 sloughs branch off of a pretty good river bend. The bend of the river pinches the flat between a grown up field. There’s a thick little knob about 100-150yds away from the tree I’m getting in thats thick with cane and sweetgim. Looks like a solid bedding area very close to the food source. That’s critical stuff this time of the year. Best part is by hunting it with my climber I can hubt it on almost any wind. I also have multiple aproaches and can even come in by river in a canoe if I need to. Cool little spot. Grabbing a bite and going to head in oretty early. I need to trim 1 limb and I’ll be ready to roll.

Love good riverbottom land like that... No big accumulation of leaves/brush makes for a quiet walk in. Also easy to see sign and acorns on the ground... My problem would be leaving the squirrels alone long enough to deer hunt... That's perfect spot/stalk still hunting ground right there!!
Good luck there "drama queen"...

Like I tole GarGuy, I love night time LDP's!! makes the horns show up good!!

I ran out of quarters and the car wash in the booming metropolis of Rusk America doesn’t have a working change machine so my truck looks like Ray Charles told Michael J. Fox where to spray. At least I can see out of my winders and mirrers. Headed in now, will update when I get in the tree.

The LO and I had a long talk about squirrel hunting this morning. He claims his weenie dog is as good of a squirrel dog as youíll ever see. i didnít call him a liar, but I did tell him Iíd blow tge dust off my ol 870 to see it! Thatíd make for a pretty prime live hunt!

Holy Lord itís hot!!! 1 limb turned into several but my stand is hung and here I sit... POURING sweat!!! Right on the river bank, wind swirling like crazy. Itís the kind of spot you can sit contently not seeing a thing and enjoy your hunt... Which could absolutely happen this evening lol. I call these Adam Huggins Holes. He grew up in these river bottoms just like I did and appreciates them as much as I do. Heís also a good drinking buddy if you kill a decent deer because he appreciates those too!

Thereís trails on top of trails in here and they can come from anywhere. The river is at my back so they canít really slip in behind me unless theyíre on the other side. To the north about 150yds theres a little knob with cane and sweetgums grown up all over it. I suspect some of the deer bed there. It pinches down like an hour glass right in front of me and I have a 35yds shot all the way across where they should travel. I put down 3 mock scrapes just to have something to put my camera on. Iím sick of hogs so Iím not corning anymore unless Iím wanting to kill one of them. Iíll try and keep yíall updated. Got 1 bar and itís going in and out.

Acorns dropping, squirrels barking, birds chirping, and it cooled off to about 104*. Aside from the heat it feels right for ol nan to come sliding through.
