Any opinions on this Sigma? I picked it up new for $278 and thought it would be good for a walk around lens.

Thoughts?

Sigma makes great glass. I haven't used that one, in particular, but it has great reviews on BH website. Good find.

I think I'm going to like this glass. I messed with it for a few minutes and it is a little heavy considering it's size. But, I like it.

Sigma is the way to go, their Art lenses are outstanding.

I haven't used that particular lens but I have a couple of other Sigma lenses and I have been very happy with them.

I guess its a good idea and this should work really well because the zoom is so perfect. You'd defintely love the images you'll take with this lens, but ofcourse if its not in your budget then definitely its not worth it for you.

I need a good mid range lens and I'm considering the Sigma 70-200 2.8 instead of the Canon version just to save some $$. Waiting to see the cost of the new model Sigma is releasing hopefully soon.

Sierracharlie out…
I'll second the Tamron 70-200 G2, its an absolutely incredible lens.

I took all of these except for the wide angle shots with mine (those were with a Sigma 35mm F1.4 which I wasn't that impressed with) on my Nikon D750 in pretty crappy lighting conditions and the sharpness is pretty outstanding.

Image stabilization and autofocus are both fantastic as well.

I shoot Nikon and have all Nikkor lenses except for the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8, that is until today. I finally ordered the Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX-II f/2.8 lens from B & H which should be here Friday.

I've seen folks speak highly about this lens for years and figured it has to be worth $350.

Need to figure out a good fish-eye for shooting house interiors.

Just bought another. Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art. Iím still shooting DX format and have yet to graduate to FX so Iím having I hard time talking myself into purchasing the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8 not knowing if or when Iíll move to FX.
