Got the draw this year, perfect considering this is my last year living in the city. Hopefully I can take a souvenir with me...

Default Grapevine Lake draw

7th year in a row I missed it. Maybe 8, I lost count! All I know is I got drawn the first year and nothing since. 5th time missing it by one number, including this year. Thatís the way the dice rolls!

Maybe next year. Yíall fellers layíem down!

Wow, 113 numbers drawn for 250 permits. That's an average of 2.2 hunters per ticket drawn. Must be quite a few 3-4 person entries.

It was a 5 year wait for me. The past 4 I got the youth permits for my girls. Now we can hunt when it is actually cool outside and the snakes are less abundant.

Thank you B. Im wishing you the same . And im sure I know what days we will both be hanging 20 ft up. Im taking off Oct 29 to start my Gus Engling hunt I drew, it ends in perfect timing on Nov 3rd then Im taking off all November to spend in the woods for he rutt at the vine. Time to help the Doeminator kill his first horned animal.

Lol my lips are sealed. I trust him with my duck spots which I covet more than deer spots lol

I switched my shift to work evenings now so I odnt have to be at work till noon and i work 15 mins away from the vine. I'll squeeze a few sits in before work during season

Longtime lurker, first time poster. My number was picked so I'm pretty excited about that. I only recently took up bowhunting about 7 months ago just so I could have more opportunity to hunt on public land here and this will also be my first season on public land. I can't wait to go out there and put some boots on the ground. Good luck to everyone this season!

They should do a one person application only. If u make the time to go up there you should get your fair chance at getting a spot. No more of this 4 people per app crap. I go every yr and apply and still will. 4 yrs in a row no luck.

My first year to apply and my first year drawn.

The line at the lake office is stupid long this morning. I've been here an hour and only moved 15 yards.

Anyone else here?

I was there in line this morning with BloodTrail and SFABowhunter. They got there earlier than I did but I pulled in around 620 this morning.

I was there first thing this morning. Got there super early and was 9th in line. That line will creep along all day. It will probably take a few hours to get through it this morning.

It took me 2.5 hours to get through the line. They only has 2 people processing permits. Shows a real lack of respect for people time.

Now who wants to tell me where the beat parking spots are?

Everyone knows there is no access to the vine. The parking situations and access to core land there is a joke at best. Last i saw it was 3 spots designated that you are allowed to use for the entire property. Sometimes you gotta get creative or just do what everyone else does.

I'm not opposed to walking miles. I've walked Lavon from 2756 to the lake a bunch of times.

I just don't know where to start at Grapevine.
