I'm still going to look there's no giving up trust me guys, I'll stick with it till the end while I'm waiting as we speak I'm walking the shore line of the river looking in all the cat tails, but from where the blood trail he either kept walking down the deer trail he was on or went to the river to his right I've walked the trail and around the trail multiple times. Trust me I know y'all wanna see pics I wanna lay my hands on him and not just that I don't want the meet to go bad, but hang in there y'all I'm trying everything y'all are saying so y'all keep it up. Between I'm only 19 years old and I'm the only one that hunts at my house I set up stands scouted and all so it's a big deal to me to do all this on my own and will be a even bigger accomplishment to recover they deer.
Y'all keep it up tho every time I start to even consider giving up I get on here and y'all bump my strive to keep searching back up.

Thanks TBH'ers!

Good luck! Hope you find him. But if you can't, I would think that any reasonable GW would not come down too hard on you for using a tracking dog. How many deer are shot with an arrow when being pursued by a dog? If you had no weapons with you, even if you had the deer in your possession, and it was obviously shot with an arrow, he might cut you some slack. Anyway, I would chance it for a buck that size! Don't be too hard on yourself because everyone makes a marginal shot eventually.

I would definitely give te GW a call to see if he could cut you a break. Ask him to come look at the signs you've already found.

Well looks like I'm going to have to accidentally put a dog on the trail of a deer haha just kidding. Well looks like the search is on again my buddy's are here there are now 4 of us were going to walk 300 to 400 yards in every direction possible. Fingers crossed on this one boy's!

Buzzard find food by sight and smell, with a gut wound and heat of day the scent will be rising. Had them find a doe I shot one time in less than 30 mins...so just depends. I shot a red stag one time and it took 3 days for him to die from gut/one lung shot. So its possible he's not even dead yet. Got to admit never heard of whitetail lasting that long though.

Bet you already walked by him, just didn't see em. Look in the thickest stuff close to where you saw last blood. If mortally wounded, and can't keep moving, he will try to hide in the thickest stuff possible.

Get a dog on him and put the dog on a leash so it isn't chasing and is tracking. The buzzards will be on it if its dead. I would take my chances with the tracking dog as they are able to pick up scent and a deer shot in the guts is usually easy for a dog to find as they put out lots of scent.

Go to where u last had blood n follow the deer trail, he will probably crash where it I's thick n where he feels safe.

Look for blood high off grass, brush, ect..

But the best thing I's to do a grid search where u last had blood splatter n think if I was a deer where would I go from here.

Very risky with this much publicity. Some of you guys need to study up on what can be lost / cost by getting caught tracking with a dog.

It is more than "just a ticket"

I say that with MUCH aggravation as I am likely the closest to him with a blood dog and would LOVE to go find thus buck!

Good luck, stay with it, write your congressman...

If we dont find him the buzzards will and ill find the buzzards.

Well this is LAST blood found after 4 hours of searching...Disapointment.

Here is the arrow it went all the way through but didnt fall out for awhile.
Last spot of blood looks like it is partly wet, should be dry after all night & mid morning, deer was possibly still alive at daylight.

A few years ago I shot deer, saw him go down, waited 20 minutes, looked at him/ tagged him. Went to camp to get four wheeler, after total of about one hr, returned to deer jumping buzzards off of him. Seems like every picture of that deer was from the left side as his right eyeball had become buzzard candy. It doesn't take them long.

Ok well we have been on a grid search this whole time I followed the blood trail he was going down and I found blood 200 yards from last blood which was already 150 from the last stand. We all gathered at the blood I found and are looking around for blood if we don't find any we are going to do the same grid search all around the last blood.
Y'all stay in there I am thinking the deer isn't dead though because blood was still wet that I recently found.
