Default Official 2021-2022 LAKE WHITNEY & AQUILLA Hunting & Fishing Tea

Hear ye- hear ye!!

I have been volun-told to get this ball rolling.
So what do yíall say?

ďTeaĒ- The scoop, news, gossip, sought after information or tidbit.

First thangs first!!!! Iím going to need everyone to slide into my DMs (Direct Message) and share the tea where-abouts of some monster bucks location in Whitney or Aquilla.
PDH and GPS pins are mandatory.

All kidding asideÖ. WaitÖ. I wasnít kidding.

HOT TEA RIGHT HERE TO GET YOUR SEASON GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!!!

I pray God keeps each of you safe, HEALTHY and blesses your season.
Every moment spent in the woods should be enjoyed, whether you're alone with nature or with closest friends.. You're in good company.

Just a few friendly reminders,

If you pack it in, pack it out! No body likes trash in the woods or water.

I know we are all grateful for this land and opportunities to hunt and fish it!
Know the boundaries and abide by the rules! They were made for a reason.

Be courteous to our fellow hunters!

Wear your harness or orange when indicated! Safety is paramount.

If the memories you make hunting are more important than the kill then you might be a sportsman! Some of the BEST memories are made even if you don't pull the trigger.

If you can, get those kids in the woods. They don't remember their best day of watching television.

I'd like to end this official kickoff with one of my favorite verses...

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; Genesis 27:3

YEE-YEE

If yíall ever need anything Iím just a phone call or smoke signal away.

Love always,
Nanners

Had one of those memories without loosing an arrow yesterday. Went out for a hog hunt and didn’t have one come close enough. I did have three deer @ 15 yds for about 20 minutes apiece though. Fun hunt, would’ve been funner if something I could shoot had come in

Itís on the to-do list when the energy level gets back up. Fishing isnít even on my radar currently.

Man, hunting areas are all grown up! I drove by the other day, and even the parking lots are grown over. That's ok though, may detour the less serious...

We tried one evening at the A lake but no luck. Saw 3 birds total but the sunset made it worth the trip and walk in!

Just went to check out a old spot at Whitney, boy was the grass wild than it had in a few years.
Also was about 2 steps from getting bit by a 4 foot rattle bug. Thank god I saw it before him.

If that sucker was a couple inches either side I wouldíve never saw him there.

Yep, always gotta watch where ya put your foot.

I know someone who got bit by one about that same size a few years ago. He was half mile in. Walked out and drove himself to Harris Cleburne. They then transported him to Harris Central in Ft. Worth. Wound up getting 7 viles. But was back out there 2 weeks later hunting. Hobbling, but hunting.

Just spoke with the Corp office. Said no deer hunting this year. They are afraid the deer a carrying Covid, and might spread it to hunters, so you guys just stay home this year. They told me to pass it along if you hear conflicting information, nevermind that, I'm a trusted source of information.

I'ma gonna help some of yall out. I find that as I grow older (and more grumpy, wretched, and senile), and can't hunt like I used to, I find it in my heart (Get-n softer) to share one of my many secret honey holes. Please take note, as I'll prob have Mayor Mary delete this post tomorrow, or over the weekend (to give some of yall slackers some time to check it out). The parking lot ain't that far either. Lots of folks walk right by it. All I ask is: Please do not share this info with anyone else other than your selves. The link is below.

Why do old goats always get tagged as grumpy. I'm an old goat and I don't consider myself any grumpier than when I was just a goat.

Been putting in for hunts like this even though probability was low due to liberal limits. They take you to/from blind. And best part is, I don't have to use my license tags.

Storm, I do. But don't have a 308 or a 300WM. I'd rather them go to someone who does.

There's a components trade thread in Other Side of the Ranch forum. You might list them there as trade bait for something you want. Somebody will grab them.

Got to love it when people mark the trail to their hunting spot literally ever 5 foot, I am not exaggerating. If anyone is that scared of getting lost... it's time to reconsider the public land option. LOL

Was it with trail marking tape? I hate that stuff. Just goes to waist and makes the place look trashy. Cause nobody ever pulls it down when done. A lot will hunt one or two times then leave it hanging only to rot and fall to the ground over time. The big streamers are the worst!

On the other hand: It's nice of them that they marked it, so others can hunt that spot during the week. And not have to worry about feeding, cause the weekend hunters will feed the spot.
