If you like 3.5", it's fairly easy to find online still. I snagged some 2.75" xperts from Cabelas. Roger had some 3" Blackcloud, but only in #4s. Other than that steel is pretty much unobtanium. Haven't seen any in academy in a while.

Yes, inventory has been constantly changing. Been watching it since the end of the season. I bought a couple of cases. 1 back in May and 1 back in June to add to my stash. Each for different guns. Already had over a case and half of various. And plenty of supplies for reloading steel and non-tox for a while now.

Just thought I'd try to help a few out who are having trouble finding stuff.

I will say Rodgers has very fast shipping. Seems like anything I order from them arrives at my door step 3-4 days later. Including shells.

Not ducks! But my new pup did good this evening! Held rock steady, retrieved the only two birds. Second was a blind.

Iíve picked up 4 packs of federal 3Ē 12ga speed steel in 2s and 4s for $45 recently. I already had a case of 20ga from last year so no more than I go I should be set!

I probably have at least a dozen cases of waterfowl shells, i buy the big sales every year.

This year nada. I keep looking and nobody is having any good sales or rebates.

Stock is really low it looks like also. Ive definitely never seen that.

Looking like I may have to buy a new Shotgun and start using 3.5" shells. That's a good excuse for a new shoty, right? Need to buy the weapon for the available ammo...lol

Some academy have 3" shells, best bet is to go online and check each local store.

Anyone seeing teal? It doesn't seem like there are as many teal down this year as last year? Less than a week away and I'm seeing some birds but not alot.

Saw a ton 7-8 days ago but not to many 2 days ago (was late getting to the spot though 9am)

Going to try and check things out again Thursday.

I am hoping the little front that came through pushed a few in

Got my old 23 powerhead swapped to a built 25 Big block this weekend . I got her dialed in and ready to roll. 3 adults 2 kids in a 1846 gatortail boat was still running 30mph in deep water with this built 25. Im pretty pumped with the results. All we need is some good numbers of teal this up coming weekend now. Here is a few pictures of the new motor install on my old frame.

Sometimes certain species will tickle in with the teal. Some nest in our state. I've watched them through the summer a few times.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Mottled ducks seem to always be around us in teal but they do their own thing anyway....they are the strangest behaving birds sometimes.

I can only remember 1 good year for early teal up here, before I quit chasing after them. Sure, there have been pockets here and there. But I only remember 1 really good year on the waters I hunt .

The best to all the teal hunters tomorrow, no matter where you're at.

I don’t think our teal season opens until next Wednesday or something goofy like that.

Teal hunting honestly isn’t too big up here. Everyone is cutting right now but a few guys will pump a little water for teal. Seems like up here you might see 1000 or so working (on a good day) really early in the morning and then it’s over for the day. That ain’t much to look at IMO!

I have been noticing them on ponds the last couple of weeks. I’ve had a wad of about 100 trading around my ponds the last few days. May try to pop a few next week. They are certainly good eats

Where are the pics?

I didn't see a teal this morning in north texas. Not suprised, the pond i was hunting only had a few birds on it Monday when I scouted. Thats north texas early teal though, the birds are always far and few between.

We got 10 birds with five people. Most of the birds were ones and twos coming in. Heard some shooting around us but it was not hot and heavy. It was odd to not sweat in the blind though. Kinda freaked me out.

Hunted Garwood. Great shoot, but not fast. Took us till 9:10. Shooting died down pretty quick after shooting time. I imagine lots of groups struggled. Lots, I mean lots of hunters out. Except for 2 pair ,all our birds were singles & we only let 3 birds get through. Mornin was fabulous, cool & refreshing

Great opener, good birds on the pond and even with our terrible shooting we scratched out a four man limit. It was my first hunt on the new club and first hunt for a friends pup, Ace, who did great.
