    Furniture Wood ID

Any idea what kind of wood this is? Table is old and it is solid, but can’t determine what kind of wood was used. Thanks

By the color and grain structure it looks like cherry to me.

Ya, we were arguing either maple or oak. I just assumed maple because the other table we got was maple. Didn’t think of cherry or birch, but I don’t know much about wood.

A cool looking finish on that old table.

I'd be curious as to how you all determine this is hard by that pic. It has some curl but curly maple is soft. Hard maple was not used in furniture much, especially in a production piece like this.
