What are these?

These are hanging on one of my wife's planters out in front of the house. What exactly are these and what will they turn into? I am thinking some sort of butterfly.

Yup...Monarchs. It will become clear or transparent, then they will emerge. Cool pic!

Yep. Been letting the milkweed grow in our yard hoping to see some monarch larvae

Cool. When I was a kid I would find those and take them into my bedroom and watch them each day waiting for the butterfly to emerge. Then would take them outside and watch em fly away.
