Got some old golf shafts from my dad. Made a hook out of a u-bolt for the end of it. Stays in the pickup for the occasional snake but more often to reach stuff without climbing up in to the back!
Didn't a greenscreener make some of those snares?

Homemade hook from old golf club and several sets of 40” tongs.

The snares are a pain if the snake is trying to get away and they are hard on snakes if your wanting them to live.
