I want to learn Solidworks but don't know how to get started?

I want to start taking online courses to learn Solidoworks, but it seems very very confusing

How do I actually get Solidworks? It appears I have to purchase through a 3rd party supplier and can not purchase directly from Solidworks?

I assumed I would look at an online college that had courses available...but also see 3rd party (again) companies that have highly recommended courses as well.

I also can not find an actual $$cost$$ on the solid works program anywhere?

Has anyone gone through this confusion already...and can navigate me through this or give me helpful hints? Thanks in advance.

If you have a college ID you can download it free.

We buy our Solidworks and Mastercam from MLC Cad Systems.

I would talk to them about a student version to start out. Once you get the software there are lots of tutorials built in to get you going

            I use Solidworks. Older version.

If you are just starting out. I would use google sketchup or other free programs that folks that do 3d printing use.

            Youtube tutorials are great.

What will you be using it for?

Feel free to PM me if youd like.

They have student versions but I think they are limited as to what they can do. Like you might not be able to run a interference analysis or CG calculations.

I was a wiz at SW back in 2007 but I've been driving Creo/ProE for the last 12+years. I tried to do a side job on SW last year and was lost.
