Bear Hunting (Might use as excuse to buy new gun)

I am headed black bear hunting in Arizona and might use it as an excuse to get a new gun. I have .223, .243, 30-30, .270, 7mm-08, and 6.5 Grendel and I could get the job done with a few of these but was thinking about getting a .308. What are your opinions on the .308? What bullet would you shoot? What glass would you put on it? What manufacturer would you go with? What other calibers should I consider? Really want something that I can reach out there with.

30-06 and be done with it. Extremely versatile as you can shoot 125 grs bullets up to 220 grs bullets for bear, moose, and other large game. A Win M70 topped with a 3x9 Zeiss would be ideal and not break the bank
