I got blanked yesterday afternoon at Elbow. I’m hunting Ridge for the first time this morning.

I got this on TC earlier in the week back on the south side of the property,



I’m really considering buying a tree saddle to give me a little more mobility in chasing these critters.

Didn't Toothdoc just sit on the ground in a juniper or cedar, a lot? And hand corn? Might give that a try if you have a place they like to hang out.

Man I LOVED toothdocs posts. He was the one that really ignited my passion for axis deer. I really miss his stories and his hunts

Small whitetail buck and a doe came by at 40 yards. An axis doe watched them for a bit, and then walked down in the creek bottom. Quiet evening, otherwise.

Back at it for the weekend. Mild temps and we had a light mist early. Nothing moving at Elbow. Pretty quiet around the entire lease. Colette had two deer in early at the Ridge, but couldn’t hold off her cough. (She’s been sick all week).

Hannah is hunting nearby at Garcia. Cady is at BSN. No reports of activity from either.

It’s Momma’s birthday, so she opted to sleep on and enjoy time in the new camper this morning!

Hopefully deer movement will pick up.
