Did this extended freeze happened to early to affect the acorn crop?

Lots of oaks wont make acorns because they hot cut and sold by the stick as firewood

In all seriousness here in East Texas where the ice was so bad there will be some effect. The cold may actually increase the trees ability to hold nuts after blooming so sweet mass may be better this year.

Bitter mass that already had baby acorns set from last year may have lost a lot of the twigs that bear in the breaking ice.

I think pecans will be fine and maybe do better than average. They bloom this year for this year. The bitter mass oaks that bloomed last year for this year may suck.

Just the opposite Pecans needs freezing weather during the winter to make a good crop each year. I help a big producer here the 3 orchards I work have probably 2800 trees.

Last year we had no acorns in Friendswood (home) and at our lease just outside of Camp Wood. It showed at the corn feeders with many animals hungry. My little sister had plenty where she lives in Austin. There is some interesting reading concerning acorn production. Many factors involved.

That will make the deers easy to catch!

Would not surprise me to if postoak/whiteoaks loaded up.
