    GS Math Help

Ok, I'm putting in a pad for a hot tub.

The amount of river rock I need is 1.11 cubic yards.

The getting place to get river rock only sells the rock in yards or half yards.

So, if I don't buy a 1.5 cubic yards, I have to make up .11 cubic yard.

How do I cover .11 cubic yards, so I can determine how many bags of river rock I would need from Home Depot?

One Cubic Yard = 27 Cubic Feet Length x Width = Square Feet

If you want your cubic yards to be described in square feet, multiply the cubic yard number by 27. This is because a yard is three feet, and a cubic measure is obtained by multiplying three numbers together (3 x 3 x 3 = 27).

by my math, .11 cubic yards should be right at 3 cubic feet

Just make your pad 10% less thick than planned. It’ll be fine. Besides, I can’t see it from my house.[emoji6][emoji23]

Go ahead and get 1 1/2 yds. Use what you don't need on another project for the wife.

I can send you my pics, but in current shape, it would only help to curb your appetite.

            To everyone else. Thanks.

Check Lowes or Home Depot for some bags of river rock. I think they have .5 cu/ft bags. Buy 2. You're welcome.
