Default Cabelas in dfw

The family and I are going to Cabelaís Saturday and I have only been to the one in Fort Worth and I see there is now one in Allen. can anyone tell me how the store compared to the one in Fort Worth? I assume they would have all of the same stuff and every the same size store. based off my map itís a little bit more convenient to get to though.

It is not as big. They still have a lot of stuff and my granddaughter likes to go check on the fish.

Yup, not as big as Ft Worth. But still a full size store with all the normal Cabela's stuff. No bargain cave however...

Allen did have a bargain cave before....but it sounds as if that may have been axed.

I was at FW Cabela's last Saturday and they still have a bargain cave.

They said eventually they're getting rid of it but as of Saturday it was still there

I had heard they were doing away with it.. didn't know if it had happened yet. Too bad, was always fun to see what was hiding in there!

Allen store has the same stuff, just not all the other "attractions" that FTW has. Merchandise wise it is probably the same. Yes, Allen has/had a bargain cave, it just wasn't very big. If you are expecting the FTW Cabela's experience, you will be disappointed. If you are simply looking for the same merchandise, you'll be fine. The bonus to the Allen store is the Rudy's right next door .

Been to many cabelas stores before. Just looking for some sale items. Allen just seems closer and more convenient to where I’ll be Saturday.

Pass right by that rudys and head 7 minutes up the road to Hutchin's, rudys is a huge disappointment after that.

I was in the Allen store Sunday and they still had a bargain cave.

What's crazy is I can walk around in that store for a hour looking and will walk out with nothing because I can go to Academy and save $$ on everything. They are like Gander Mountain was, way overpriced on everything.

Truth! Rudy's is a disappointment after the first time you eat there.

Yep on the Rudy's..except for the breakfast tacos. Bargain cave was still at Allen location last week when I was there. Not a ton of stuff in there, but it's still there. They are a little higher priced than Academy, but typically have more items than what academy has.

As a life long Mckinney resident I am a HUGE Hutchins fan. But I still go to Rudyís when Iím in Allen

That being said the real news here is conflicting reports of a bargain cave closer. That may be the last straw for me. Going to the scene of the crime this afternoon to investigate.

FW is bigger than Allen. Customer service in FW is better, IMO also.

Worked a Cabelas for 6 months and ate everywhere around there except for Rudys. Never smelled smoke...

I guess it depends who works there. I went by today to grab my license since I was over there seeing a customer and the gal at customer service still gave me the marked discount on a pair of jeans from the bargain cave.

The store looked terrible though and not much inventory on the floor

I went to the Allen store the other day for a treestand that was in the catalog, but they didn't have any in the store. The salesperson said you can only get it at Bass Pro stores, even though it's in the cabelas catalog. They didn't have any treestands set up in the store like they used to. No real reason to go in anymore except to pick up orders for free shipping.

Biggest downside to Cabela’s is the loss of the bargain cave.
Cabela’s in Allen has practically turned into a everyday clothing store. There is more everyday clothing than there is hunting or work apparel now. Thanks Bass Pro!
