I purchased a small collection of BP rifles earlier this year. This one caught my eye and I really want to get a deer with it this year. A J Garner built .45 flinter with a 42" barrel. I have several pounds of BP ready to go I just need to find the time to mess with it.

        Mighty pretty rifle right there

I remember the first deer I killed with BP. 54 hawkins with 45 cal barnes sabot on a drawn hunt at devils sinkhole.

I still dabble a bit. Just with inline now

Very nice! I have an old Hawken rifle I bought from Cabelas 20+yrs ago. Havent shot it in forever. Never was into the inlines but doug showed me his that he bought for his nilgai hunt and I thought it was pretty cool.

I have a TC Hawkins repro and I shoot the conical bullets from TC. I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy at 75 yards. I’ve never hunted with it though. Probably need to take it out and do just that.
