Default German Shepard needs a home

A friend of mine located a female, young, obedient German shepherd in the Houston area. I have four so I donít need a fifth but Iím sure I can find her a home. She is sweet, not chipped and looks in good condition. Obviously I donít know her background but she doesnít act aggressive at all. If you are interested let me know.

Sheís a sable German shepherd. Long tail and lean body looks like my Czech bred male. Iím going to guess sheís about 18 months. Absolutely beautiful dog. Found in a park just wondering around.

More than likely working lines. Could be some West German blood as well.

Working line Shepard. Might check her hips looks to me as if they are hunched over a bit. It just might be just the angle of the pic. Great looking GSD.

Could just be the picture. Working lines are generally healthy. That being said there is no telling if the lines could be watered down via backyard breeding yet was somehow able to keep the sable genes going. I'm no expert by any means.

Sorry everyone, I work nights so Iím just waking up. Stoof is first in line (Iíll pm you back here in a minute) and if he canít take her Iíll go down the line using PMís. I didnít ask if she is still intact but Iíll check. I know she rides just fine in cars lol. I know she hasnít tried to eat anyone yet. Iíll get a little more information and post as soon as I know. I may just go get her since I have cats, babies and other dogs. Then I can get a good read on her and let yíall know. My only problem is scheduling that since I work so much.

Alright hereís the update: I have her now and Stoof is coming this week to see if she will fit in his family. If that doesnít work out hereís what Iíve figured out.

Sheís absolutely a working bred dog. Knows sit and down very well. Doesnít care about cats. Isnít bothered at all by my 6 year old daughter getting all in her space. Sheís super quiet, no barking (until we left her alone in the kennel) and timid around other dogs. She ran from my Boykin and my dominant female GSD so she will do fine with other dogs. Sheís thin and needs some groceries. She kennels well until you leave her alone then she talks and howls lol. She doesnít like to be left alone with dogs so that tells me sheís likely been an only dog with one or two owners. She responds to me very well, almost too well. I feel like someone lost their young working dog that has been started well.

With a little companionship and groceries sheís going to make Stoof, or someone else one heck of a dog.

Hah yeah, obviously I have a soft spot for GSDís but you donít normally find one quite so......specifically bred. Iíve seen plenty of American Black and Tan shepherds looking for homes but itís not normal to find a dog bred this way just wandering around. Darn fine pup. Fetches like CRAZY, not dominant at all, cool with cats and kids and already has some obedience training. I bet if I knew her name Iíd unlock how well trained she is but I donít want to spend too much time with her because I need Stoofís family to be the ones to bond.

Brother Iím excited to give her to you as it seems she is a gem for sure. Iíll see you tomorrow evening!

Have you taken her to the vet to make sure she isnt microchiped? Might want to do that before you try to place her in a new home.

Yes. She has been to the vet and does not have a microchip. We have scoured the internet and local vet and pet places looking for someone who lost their dog and she does not fit any of those descriptions. I wouldnít give a dog away without doing my very best to make sure a home is actually needed. Thanks though.

Default German Shepard needs a home

This is night number three. We named her Izzy and she already responds. She knows basic commands and she is a faithful spazz. She comes to my whistle and loves kids. We need some leash work and she barks at people but is instantly friends.

Somebody had worked with her and it kills me to think that good people may be missing their dog.
Weíre gonna take good care of her.
