Default Rate my carpenter skills

No negative comments please. I see all of your guys mad skills and thought what the heck!!! My wife had been wanting a table for outside so I figured I would build a bench first and sort of work up to the table project. The second bench should be a lot easier since I just have to copy it. Do you guys think it would look good to get a torch and burnish it before I put sealer on it.
What kind of sealer?
Valentine's Day is coming up. If y'all need something special for your special lady let me know and I will throw something together.

Now I have to get busy sanding. I want it to look niiiice!!!

Not trying to be negative, but it looks more like a sawhorse with a shelf than a bench

Definitely use the torch and burnish it. Burnish it really good!

Sand it first, stain it, burnish it. Then go to Home Depot Lowe’s get Varathane, urathane. Gloss or semi gloss. If your using treated wood make sure the moisture is out of the wood. Put a couple three coats on it. Sand between coat with 300 grit or OO steel wool

Your "carpenter skills" are much better than your picture posting skills!
