Bill (in Paradise), I forgot to mention that my bro-in-law uses the vet there in McAllister for his lab, but your son probably already told you there is a vet there.

Looking forward to that TBH fly fishing picture on the Madison. We will probably be up there in late September.

Congrats on the move from the People's Republic of Kalifornia to the state of Montana. And remember, Bozeman liberal ain't in the same class as Kali liberal. You're gonna enjoy your retirement and I'm glad for you !

It's been a long road for sure; from kids rolling their 4x4 trucks, to setting up bows and hunts. We are getting old (but it beats the alternative).

Good luck on the move, we know you will do well no matter where you end up and what you end up doing.

I can't say I'll ever visit you in Montana, but I am more inclined than I was when you were in San Jose!

Bownanza-North. I love the idea.

I was ‘this close’ to driving to Bownanza this year- I even had a room reserved to share with TexAg93. Long story- next year!

Lived in Missoula - where the RMEF is from, not Bozeman- for 3 years while wife went to law school.

Congrats sir. I'll be up around Missoula in June with the girlfriend. Never been to Bozeman, but am considering making a drive to the area since we don't really have a set itinerary for this trip.

Bill, be sure to eat at Ted's (Turner) Montana Grill in the Baxter Hotel on Main Street. Every time we fly into Bozeman my wife has to head there for lunch for the best top-shelf margaritas, but the food is also excellent.

We’re out!

Visited daughter in Sacramento. Trying to get on the road out of Cali- but I can’t get over Donner Summit without mandatory chains- even 4wd needs them unless I have snow tires in all corners.

Well Bill, my sincerest congratulations to you and your family sir! If I couldn't live in Texas, Montana would be my second choice! Safe travels and may God give y'all many years of happy retirement there!

I'm thinkin' your new screen name should be simply "Bill"! I mean after all, you ARE our Western representative and so famous round these parts a single name will completely identify you!!

4th day here, found an archery pro shop that that had great folks and paid for a year of 24/7 access to the indoor 50 yard range (card key), and shot my first 3d in Montana. I’m committed to shooting my Sarrels recurve to hunt.

My first practice shot was a 20 yard bullseye- I say #1 arrow is the only one that counts- then it went downhill. My 3d score was horrible but it was the first step.

It’s what I suspected- archers are archers wherever you go, and I met some great folks. The club president and his father went to Texas to pig hunt last years. They were surprised we shot them in San Jose.

3d shoot in Three Forks. Those are the Bridger Mountains north of Bozeman in the distance.

Update- after 5 wretched days searching property management web sites and looking at 1,500!sq ft townhouses and condos our stuff will not fit in, we found a large farm house on 20 acres, 3 car workshop, and horse stalls less than 20 minutes from Bozeman.

The elk are a mile north. The National Forest is 2 miles south. Paved roads to within 1/2 mike for winters.

I need to pick a new screen name. Maybe Blessed Bill?
