    Sonora Axis

Had a great hunt down south of Sonora. I was worried with all the anthrax talk that this hunt was going to be out the window. But with all the work they did a great job saving the herd on this ranch. Tons of animals as always.
Hunt started We were after bullwinkle and knew where he was. After 2 sits and many good axis coming through bullwinkle either had moved on or shed. We drove around and seen tons and tons of axis and no bullwinkle. So last afternoon we decided to go search for something to get on the ground. We spotted this group and at 300 yds found the heard bull. Decided to make the shot with my trusty ol 25-06 and he ran 60 yds and feel over. Got my first scope to the nose but all was good because I downed another great axis bull!!! Bullwinkle is still there and hopefully I can get a crack at him but I am happy with this one!
