Where are the Dove

Anyone know the best area for dove right now with the drought. I am north of DFW and little to no dove. To the west has been good but they are dryer than we are now. I am thinking south but how far south? The further the better? Looking for a solid weekend hunt.

Town birds (Little Elm and Keller)and lake birds. Anywhere near a lake could be holding birds.

I think the dove are pretty sparse west and northwest of DFW. I've scouted as far west as
Abilene and NW up to around Breckinridge and over to Albany. I'm sure there are spots where they are thick but they are not widespread. I've seen little in the way of sunflowers or dove weed but you may have some luck around water. . From a previous thread it sounds like south Texas is holding a lot of birds.

This time last year, my jobsite (Oyster Creek/Freeport) had droves of birds.
This year, I'm lucky to see 3 or 4 birds a day.

Saw hundreds in Mexico a few weeks ago when I was helping fill protein feeders.

Anyone ever hunt doves/birds in Mexico?

I’m invited back in September. They’re helping with shotgun paperwork. Still a little leery. Crossed at Columbia upriver from Laredo. Ranch is only about 15 miles in.
