South Region Spring Turkey

I've hunted turkeys for a long time, and used to have a killer spot that has started to go south the past few years. Have a place down in Uvalde county that has a bunch of turkeys, I was just curious if anyone hunting in the South region and are the birds down there hot n ready to roll come opener?

I'll be going regardless just tryna figure out if they'll be answering any calls, or if I'll have a long morning and sitting still and waiting. Thanks!

Im in for the responses I’m headed to falfurrias next weekend. I’ve never hunted them before. Im curious as well if there “rutting” yet. lol

They were strutting/Gobbling and starting to hen up two weeks ago in Kennedy County.

Make sure are still in the south zone. I hunt in Uvalde county. Am north of 90. And this year am in the north zone

I was planning a trip based upon the south dates. Yeh nope.
