Buff I shared your post about shot placement with my college age son, it is what we call an anchor shot. He applied it to a doe on Sunday morn. and had very good results.

This is what I do. I hand corn in the 10-15 yard range. I am the only trad hunter on our place and previously hunted with a compound. All of our sets are 25-30 yards away from the feeder, so I rely strictly on hand corn to try to get them in front of the ground blind, etc.

My heart rate drops when they jump into the pen, because at that point, I know I am not taking a shot.

Just hung a stand yesterday for 25 yards. That's pretty typical for me.
