A terrible loss that night.
I met Steve Gaines at a Jam in Miami, Ok, 1968ish. Local musicians would get together at an old abandoned dance hall and as a result, bands were formed. When Steve showed up the entire place went silent. He had a band named The Ravens at that time. He was so far advanced with his guitar skills that we knew he was destined to go big time. His leaving the tiny Miami area to take on the world was genius.
RIP to those who passed.
