10% Off At Academy (for some)

I did a search but didn't find anything before posting this. I was in Academy today for shoes and when I checked out, the clerk asked if I was a Vet. He explained that vets and 1st responders are now getting 10% off (with proof). He said they'd started this about a month ago. They still didn't have much ammo, but it helped on the shoes I got.

I was in Academy, I think in July, and they had the same deal going. I used my Academy credit card so I got 15% off total. I bought an MP Shield Plus in 9mm and saved about $70.

I did not know that the offer was good at this time. Maybe they do it a couple times a year.

When I went in there a few weeks after I retired, I saw the sign about first responders. I was already going to buy a pistol anyway but when I got to the counter I ask the girl, do retired police officers count. She said certainly if you have your ID.

You betcha….. The $70 that I saved could’ve bought me almost enough ammunition to top off one magazine, at that time.
