Default In need of a rear end

I figured this is a long shot but I’m trying to find a Dana 70 rear axle for a 1993 d250 2wd.
Here is the back story….
My oldest son (Clint) has been saving for a while and finally bought his dream truck 1993 Dodge Ram D250 turbo diesel.
He has rebuilt the front end which we knew was going to have to be done but before putting him on the road I wanted everything 💯 checked out. I was told his rear end needed to be rebuilt, so I ordered all the parts. When the parts came in they weren’t fitting so I took the rear end to a local shop for them to work on it.
Much to our surprise we found out that the reason the parts weren’t working is because someone had replaced the original rear end with a rear end from a dodge dually van and then modified it to fit his truck.
The local shop I took it to has been looking for a used rear end for his truck but they have been unsuccessful. Any leads or tips would be appreciated

We are in the Bryan/College Station area, I am willing to travel to help him get his truck going and I do frequent the Midland/ Odessa area quiet a bit.

I would probably find a Dodge truck forum or group and ask on there. I am sure there a bunch of Dodge nuts, with multiple Dodges around, that, they might part out.

now that they identified the rear end why can't they just get parts for it?

From my understanding whoever modified the current rear end took the rear end out of a dodge dually van and apparently modified it to fit this truck but it’s no longer a dually. They guy I hired to work on it is telling me the parts to rebuild that rear end for it are near impossible to find.
I’m now looking at the possibility of putting a dana 80 rear end on it, if we can get the welding issues worked out for the brackets that connect to the leaf springs. I was trying to keep it as original as possible but sometimes it just doesn’t workout.

No I didn’t, unfortunately. I would still love to go but raising three boys, two of which I have 95% of the time has taken up more of my time and money than I could have ever expected. It is still on my to do list though…. Maybe next summer for my 40th birthday 😊

There is one of that body style truck, but standard cab 4X4, for sale outside of Seguin. Don't have any idea what they want for it. It's inside someone's fence along FM 725.

Y'all give my inbox too much credit
I did actually get an offer on a noodling trip on here a couple years ago but I didn't take it because I knew that person wanted to noodle with something different and I'm just not that type of gal. I mean the half naked body (I wanna be a body builder) pictures were a nice gesture if I was into that...
All the guys on here that know me personally know that I'm just a crazy sarcastic sh*thead...

I'm gonna try to Clint into doing a D-Y-I post for his truck.

I know we're fixing to post a project boat with motor for sale, if anyone is interested.

It is a page where people who are you biggest fans pay to see you...

The only dating site I ever tried was Tinder and that is a long story because apparently Tinder is for "hooking up" not dating

Lol...I bet figuring that out the hard way is indeed a good story...I'm in my early 50's & been with Mrs Artos dating / marriage for 35 years & simply can't even fathom what today's scene would entail.

I bet a 'Tell Your Date Horror Story' thread would be a frick'n riot!!

I think we found a rear end here in town. For some reason my son has a lot of people who like him and they were all looking trying to find him something. His old boss made a few phone calls and found a truck that someone was parting out. It’s a dually but everything is measuring up. It only took him and I two times going over there and crawling under the truck to get the numbers we need to make sure it will work. Hopefully the mechanic will let us know today if it will work but we’re 90% sure that it should. And it looks to be in good condition.
Thanks for all of y’all’s help and suggestions.
We have tons of pictures and this has been a huge learning process for him and me. We will be doing DYI thread on his rebuild.

Hey cousin had probably 5-8 of these model pickups sitting in his pasture. He may be interested in selling one. Idk Jack about what you’re asking for or looking for. I just know he collects and buys them all the time to keep his trucks running. Best I know they’re all good just no engine. If this sounds like something you want me to ask about shoot me a pm.
