Default The adventures of Caci and Dan. 2022 caribou!

So, with my wife backing off National bikini competitions and babies in the near future, we decided to bypass September archery elk next year and use the money towards a blow out hunt of a lifetime for both of us. Alaska drop hunt for caribou 2022 in the northern brooks range during mid September. Over my birthday actually. Got the text from our outfitter this am and he said that they turned down the bill to limit caribou in this area and they are good to go. So, itís all booked up with signed contract and deposit. Gonna be a lot of planning, gotta upgrade a few items like my tent, but itís on! Wife is beside herself. 7-10 days in a tent in Alaska chasing caribou and eating fresh fish out of the local waters has her over the moon! Game plan is for her to take her custom 7WSM that she is more than capable stacking rounds out to 600 and Iím gonna take the bow. However, if the bow ainít working or if the right caribou comes along out of bow range, Iím grabbing that rifle.

Now, we discussed a lot of options. Relaxation vacay in Tahiti or bora bora, fishing trip, Argentina dove hunt since Iíve done it but she hasnít, and Africa. But she said none of those fit us. She wasnt looking for pampered luxuryís accommodations and we donít go on hunts based off of comfort. So, I guess we are going 180 degrees the other direction. Weíve both always wanted to see Alaska and get that experience so this trip will absolutely check multiple boxes for us!

Excited. Utterly excited!

Ram aviation. No BS straight forward guy. Answers honestly and from other posts on different forums, he works hard to get his clients on caribou numbers. Heís also one of the smaller outfitters which is nice and uses wheeled planes so he can drop in multiple areas vs just a float plane

We will be going back in 22í as well. The once in a lifetime hunt Iím afraid has turned into at least a twice in a lifetime hunt. You will have a blast.

Where did you bag that one? Thatís exactly the type of bou we are after. From what Iíve gathered, there wonít be timber like that where we are hunting

This is from the 40 mile herd. Far east / central Alaska area.

Went this past Sept. with Golden Eagle out of Kotzebue. The tundra and it's tussocks kicked this old man's rump.(72) You are young an should be fine. We rented our camping gear so we did not have to carry it up or ship it. If you get an Alaska Airlines credit card you get a voucher once a year for a $99 companion fare. Holler if you have any questions I can help you with.
