Living room finish with cathedral ceiling ideas ?

Trying to design my living/ kitchen without taking out a second mortgage!
Please post some pics of your spread.
Looking for farm - rustic style open concept.
I have multiple shoulder mounts so need something to help them blend in.
I can’t afford all wood ceilings at this time, so need other options.
    Thanks in advance,
    Your friend “D”

Don't give up on wood if you want it. I could not afford regular wood ceilings and then my builder came up with this. It is the inexpensive bead board that is used on porches and things. We simply put it on upside down, then stained and varnished it. It saved a ton of money and looks great.

Looks fantastic! Of course those exposed beams in the other pic are awesome too!

Can’t afford solid wood on ceiling.
Looking at a couple beams probably.

Galvalume tin (new material), barn wood (new material), faux beam (two 2x6 with barn wood trim)

You can make fake beams out of 1x4 or 1x6 cedar. Here is a side picture of how a lot of trim carpenters are building them now.

the beam in my picture is just the same beaded boards put on backwards on a 2x4 frame.

This is my plan of approach !
Going to make faux beams, looking for just the right view design.
                    Thanks for all so far.

That's how mine are built, sorta. I'll try to get a picture later today.

These beams and the mantle are boxed from “slices” of old timbers. The carpenter would mix wood glue with the sawdust to fill the mitre joints. Great trick of the trade!

                              Still looking for examples !
Send more of those ceilings, especially tin and beams.
Thinking old beat up rusty tin.
