Sharpening a ditch blade and machete

Having a hard time sharpening a new ditch blade
Wore myself out using my B file, went and got a 80 grit flapper grinder wheel
Still not getting the results I need.
Back to B file or disk ? Don’t want to hog off to much metal with straight grinding wheel

Once sharp, I will use the B file to maintain do to lack of power in the field

    What say y’all?

I usually use a wore out 80grit tiger disk. Seems to work good for me. Just dont get it to hot. Get a 60 or 40grit, and move some metal.

I don't know what a ditch blade is.
Is that like a sling blade?
(Some people call it a Kaiser blade).
I use a Grobet's flat bastage file on machetes & axes.

I’m way too impatient. I use my grinder on my machetes, axes, etc.

It a burk blade style brush axe, sharp on both sides , definitely need gloves to sharpen it ,
Wish my PaPa and his buddies were still alive to get a demonstration!
