    .410 question......

I tried to post this on The Other Side Of The Ranch, but work has it blocked as an adult material site. What is the lowest recoil .410 shells available? Bought my granddaughter the little youth Rossi with composite stock and it kicks like a durn mule! She's kinda spindly and can't handle the weight of a larger gun.

Can a 45LC shot shell be fired in a .410 shotgun?

I am not sure, you would need to compare the pressures..maybe even e-mail the fire arm manufacture....but right of hand, I would so DO NOT TRY THIS, until you know. Most .410 hand gun loads are lighter in shoot weight and pressures

All the .410's are 000 buckshot. Alexis will be putting the hurt on them squirrels.

I bought some 2 1/2" #7.5 shells that don't kick and they aren't loud either. estate brand I believe.

Anything 2 1/2" will be less than 3" of course. Other than that, there isn't enough hull there or powder combinations ( only 2) and they are in such small amounts that felt recoil won't be effected. I reload about as hot of a 2 1/2" as I can for dove and I can't feel a difference vs cheap shells or AA

It's comical how many shells you can reload in .410 vs 12g with the same amount of components.

I had some english 410 shells that were shorter than normal. I cant remember the brand, but they had 1/2 the recoil in my judge than the normal shells. i am guessing they were 2 1/2" long.

I found a link http://gamebore.com/uk/cartridge/game/410-hunting They are called Gamebore 50mm

Here is a pic of the shell along side a regular one

Those are pretty hot "max dram" loads. They would have more recoil than a light load. Regardless, a .410 feels like a BB gun compared to a 12.
