    Turkey in Lampasas or Coryell?

We got on a new lease in the fall near what is designated as 'Izoro' on the Lampasas/Coryell County line. Through many hunts and thousands of game camera photos, we saw/heard zero turkeys. It seems like good turkey habitat, but they don't seem to be around.
Do others in the area have turkey around?
This is the first time I have been around sheep ranchers (although there are no sheep on the particular property we hunt). Do sheep negatively affect turkey populations?

I can’t answer your question but I can tell you that I had a lease a while back (I may get back on it) that was in Lampasas County. Between Adamsville and Lometa to be exact.

The rancher ran both sheep and goats, you also could swing a dead cat without disturbing big flocks of turkey... those dang corn buzzards were everywhere

We have a group of about 60 that stays a couple hundred feet from our house south of Lampasas. Theres some good habitat in Izora for them.

They may winter elsewhere and be there in the spring
