    Deer hoist

Building a portable deer skinning pole, and truck loader. Used 1/8" 2" square tubing, and 1 3/4" pipe to turn the pole. Ran out of gas on my mig so will finish installing pulley and winch next week. The pole is 9' so it's over all height will be a little over ten feet. Hope this is tall enough.

Dang fine job! I think 10' should be tall enough to get the job done!

Great idea on the support on the bottom. A buddy of mine made one and he uses straps from the top into the truck bed. I like yours better.

Do you use your jump stater to run the winch?

Nope but you can. I ran wire to the back and have a plug.

makes it real easy to get those deer over the high fence

I have one that was home built by a welder in Pleasanton 10+ years ago. I have had about a 12-15" extension made as I found it wasn't tall enough and that fixed that. One major difference is that my version comes out of the receiver about a foot, then makes a 45-degree turn to the right. That makes it easier to swing the deer/hog around onto the tailgate instead of trying to do it from a centered upright. Either configuration is worth its weight in broadheads to an old back though.
