I'm gonna take mine back. I put two pieces of ice in it and they melted overnight. No beer either. Mine is a bummer.

Had a situation this weekend proving the Ozark Trail is better than the Yeti. We were camping in New Braunfels on River Road, our campsite along with 4 others in our crew backed up to the road. Woke up Sunday morning to find my 110 Yeti drug over to the fence and everything dumped out of it. It looks like the thieves got spooked when trying to heft it over the fence and dropped it. They also dropped their bolt cutters they were using to cut the cable locks. Ours was not locked up. The yeti was sitting right next to a 45 OT cooler that they didn't touch. Our friends a couple campers over weren't so lucky, his 105 was stolen.

Has anyone had any luck finding any of the 52's in the north Houston area. I've stopped in conroe, Montgomery, porter, and they one off 99 right before porter area, with no luck.

I'm in the woodlands and take a look each time I'm in a store, I've never seen the 52s only the 73s and usually one at a time on the shelf

I stopped in the one off Woodlands Parkway and 2978 Thursday of last week I believe and they had a 52 on the shelf. I went in there looking for a tumbler. Found one 32 ounce but it wasn't a coated one like I wanted. Oh well, picked up the tumbler anyway and will keep my eyes out for a coated one later.

Finally a good competitor against the Yeti. They have been overpriced for far too long. Hoping this brings some sanity into the cooler market.

Have you thought about coating your own using Plasti dip? It would be pretty easy to do, just buy a can of it in whatever color you want and spray it yourself. I may try it with one I have that does not already have stickers on it.

Maybe a bad seal? The 52 I bought last week, held 20lbs of ice for 4 days, sitting in the back of my truck the whole time. There's got to be something wrong with it. Could always exchange for a different one.

I bought two of mine for the double cooler rack in my boat, and I went through all 10 the Walmart had to find the two good ones. Almost all of them had an issue with either the lid seal or the drain plugs not fully sealing.

I saw one at the Woodlands Pkwy store a couple weeks ago. They are pushing some serious inventory out of that store apparently. I was speaking with the older gentleman that works outdoor section/gun counter and he was telling me you pretty much have to get their early to find that stuff. Him and I were talking about tumblers specifically and he said they had sold better than 300 (both sizes combined) tumblers in the 3 weeks prior to me taking to him.

He said tumblers especially they either put them out during night shift or he puts them out first thing in the morning if the night guys didn't get to it. I assume the goes with the other OT products as well.

I bought the 52qt a few weeks ago and noticed some serious condensation around the lid and drain plug... There was also a good puddle of water on the ground. I realized that I had not fully tightened the drain plug. Leaking solved. The cooler sat on the porch another 24 hours and there was still pretty significant condensation around the lid and drain. From what I've read in the various OT threads, there was an apparent lack of QA/QC. My question is, Is it possible to find an OT cooler that wont "sweat" like mine currently does? I've still got tags/receipt so I am debating whether I should try my luck on a new one or just return it and go a different route.

TIA

My dad has the 72 qt and it functions perfect, he keeps it in the garage with block ice and whatever sodas or beverages they drink and it last for a week and a half depending on the size of the ice block or how hot it is in garage. I use the high end OT soft cooler and I would not buy again. Ice will last a solid 2 days but it sweats around zipper and doesn't seem to be as quality made as the new lines of the soft RTics

I have their bigger soft side cooler and I use it everyday, stays in my truck, and beck and forth to the farm. Never had a problem with it.

Bringing this back up to ask the ignorant question how does one check seals in the store aside from verifying they are in place, in intact, and not torn?

The lids should be hard to open after being closed. You can feel and hear the vacuum being broken. A bad seal would just open without any extra effort.

Just bought the wife a 25 QT Ozark Trails cooler. $86 buck and the lid was hard as hell to open. The Yeti's at Academy for a 20 QT are listed at $199!

I have a 95 QT Pelican, a 60 QT Cabela's, a 73 QT Ozarks Trails and a 35 QT Pelican and I cannot see a single bit of difference between the 4 as far as ice retention. The Pelican's were a heck of a lot cheaper too when they were bought, $399 for the 95 QT Pelican at Costco!

TTT for a unintended honest review of this cooler. So I bought 2 28qt White Ozark trail (OT) coolers and mounted them to the back of my boat. They are great. I use one as a dry box and the other as a cooler. Sit and stand on them all the time and they just work great.

We went out Sunday for a boat ride and loaded the OT cooler with 12 water bottles and 4 cokes. We took a 28qt Igloo with sandwiches and chips. I bought a 20 pound bag of ice and split it between the 2 coolers equally.

Yesterday I washed the boat before I put it away. Both coolers had been sitting on the deck of the boat all night until noon when I emptied them. The White OT cooler had 2 ice cubes in the bottom of the ice chest. The Dark green Igloo Still has ice in it. A lot of ice. Had I not seen this side by side comparison first hand I would have never cared.

I didn't buy the coolers for their ice holding ability. I bought them because the were stout coolers with good latches and I got a deal on them. For that reason I like them.

I thought I might share this and see if others had any opinions, good or bad.

Interesting. The Coleman Xtreme Marine have been pretty good but haven't read a comparison like that where an Igloo won out. Do you think yall were in/out of the drink cooler more than the food cooler? Also were the waters and cokes already cold?

The drinks in the OT cooler were semi cold but the lid on the igloo didn't shot all the way because my wife didn't want to crush the chips. Either way, Igloo still had Ice 18 hours pass the OT cooler.
