One of my best friends from Jr Hight just opened up a new card room in Aledo.. I went and played tonight for their soft opening and had a great time.. Completely Legal game and being run by a great staff.. They are opening up tomorrow at 5pm and starting monday will open 11am-4am. Stoked to have had a winning session the first night

There’s several of us TBH’ers play an online game. I just got home from a tournament. Aledo is way out of my way. I play several cash games in my neck of the woods.

I play when I go bowling. Get a card for every strike or spare. High hand wins.

Membership is $10 a day, $30 a month or $300 for the year and hourly seat fee is $13. Still way cheaper than a casino taking a rake

I saw that on Poker Atlas and will need to check out their tournament schedule, or if they will have any tournaments.

I play at several places in the area.

They are going to have tourneys but will be like 2-3 weeks out.. The supplier that is making their chips has kinda screwed them around a little and their chips arent ready.. They are currently borrowing some chips for the cash games but tourney chips wont be in for another 2-3 weeks

Sounds great, except for that "seat fee" thing..

Is that a customary thing ?..
That's a deal killer for me..

By doing the seat fee they are running a straight game if they took a rake they are considered a casino

All the poker houses have an hourly seat fee. They don’t take a rake so really the only way to make money is a seat fee.

Well. That's one way they make money...

I'm not questioning their methods, or their business practices.
I've just never been to one. And I'm just trying to find out how they
work...

That is the only way they make money. No rake comes off the table from pots. The $13 seat fee is WAY cheaper and a better deal than rooms pulling 10% up to $6 or $7
