While itís not as good as a freshly made one, the convenience easily makes up for any lack in flavor. Maybe itís been out a while but today was the first time Iíd seen it at the liquor store. They also had a Manhattan version. 75 proof.

I’ve never had an old fashioned. I think I need to have one.

Old Fashioned is my go to when out for a nice steak dinner. Chew, it looks like it had bourbon in if I am reading the label correctly.

It's ready to go, just pour and drink

Bottle shows 75 proof, a little higher than I would've expected for a premixed drink

ETA: Elijah Craig makes a good Old Fashioned mix that you have to add your own alcohol to. They sell it in a kit with a bottle of their small batch around the holidays.

Wish they had a whiskey sour version. Love a good whiskey sour with egg white and fresh squeezed lemon

This was the smaller bottle but it was $19.99. At 375ml Iíd guess that would be equal to around 6 bar drinks which makes the price seem reasonable especially with a non well bourbon. If anyone wants to try it but canít find it locally Iím sure I could ship them one, the 750ml bottle (assuming itís cheaper than 2x the 275) would probably make more sense though.

OF has been my go to for years. My sister got me a smoking contraption recently, and Iíve been on a smoked old fashioned kick lately. Iím going to have to try that pre made OF.

Barsmith Bar Essentials has a really good old fashioned mix. Get their old fashioned mix and their bitters and add it to your favorite bourbon. It's good and only $6.99 at Total Wine.

I would think the bitters is already in the mix. I make a good bit of OF's at home since they're an easy drink but just use bourbon, bitters, simple syrup and either a cherry or orange peel.

I was on a G&T kick for a while switched over to the Old Fashioned this winter, seemed to fit the bitter cold weather up here better. Now that it's finally warming up I've been trying the different Ranch Rider drinks and haven't found one I don't like yet.

I agree. I use about half of what they recommend because I don't like them too sweet. Still add fresh orange (if i have some) and bitters. I've been smoking some old fashions lately for a change of pace! Treaty oak bourbon is fantastic.

Yep. Been pleased with Barsmith for a quick OF for over a year now. I do still make them from scratch at times, but you canít go wrong with Barsmith and cut the dosage in half. Too sweet for me at full dose as well.

Not a fan of Bulleit, but the Old Fashioned is my go to mixer. Evan Williams makes a fine Old Fashioned.

Would like to give the OP a try, though.

I love a good Old Fashioned. Don't laugh but Jim Beam Black Label isn't half bad for the price. In fact I would pick it over some pricier bourbon I've had.

I had to make a last minute trip up to North Dakota this week. While there I tried a couple ďnewĒ old fashioneds with Beam Black. Not sure what was different about it but the waitress mentioned something about a sugar cube. Either way, it was delicious.

Picked up some today. I'm going to go ahead and throw my main card away cuz this stuff is a lot stronger than the old fashions I usually make. It's going to take me three or four of these to find out if I like it

Yep i agree with you....I like a high proof for a mixer. I use Wild Turkey 101 for my old fashions because it can stand up to to the ice/mix and still gives you the flavor you are looking for. and its cheap!

I haven't tried this pre made stuff yet but ol'fashions made with bulliett are my go to here at the casa. I may have to try one of these some time.
Speaking of premade-my nieghbor across the street brought me a small 4-pack of "bloody-buddy" (bloody mary drink made here in Texas) a few weeks back. peppery and strong they are!

Saw something like that recently that might interest you. Take a cookie sheet and add water, place in smoker for a while, then take said water and add it to ice cube tray, and put it in freezer. Voila, you have a smoky flavored ice cubes. Experiment with time in smoker and flavors of wood/pellets, and let us know how it turns out.

This sounds very intriguing! As it happens, weíll be gathering at the ranch this weekend and my nephew will have the smoker going for hours. Iíll give this a try and report back.
