I’ve had to work opening weekend the last 2 years, but that hasn’t stopped my youngest son Talen from hitting the woods.
Last year I was able to FaceTime him after he killed his personal best buck with his rifle. (We are an MLD Lease).
This year he left the rifle at home and headed out with his PSE Evolve. Saturday resulted in some close encounters with low light or no shot opportunities on 2 different shooters we’ve been watching all Summer.
Sunday evening resulted in a similar FaceTime call after he made it happen and double lunged this 10 point at 30 yards. Made a short 50 yard track and recovered his best bow buck to date. Tracking and LDP’s pics were all done Solo.
His Ol Dad ain’t liking him hunting alone and while I’m at work.
But I’m sure proud of him!!!
I know I’m late posting this. But our friends lost their 10 year old last Sunday and I just couldn’t bring myself to brag on my son when someone had just lost theirs.
Please say a prayer for the Williamson family in Lufkin.
