Got my mulie back from Taxi

Man did this one turn out incredible. I have never been a velvet fan but he had it when I busted him at 9000 feet so eventially decided to have it mounted with velvet.

Problem was that the original velvet could not be saved due to where we were and how long we still had to hunt. So I took him to a car was and sprayed all the old velvet off. Now I had a rack that was solid white which was fine I would just have my taxi stain them and make them hard horn. I have seen the velvet reproductions on a few deer and never thought it looked that real. While surfing the net I ran across a guy in Wisconsin that did velvet reproduction but would also carve and make the velvet look real by airbrushing them which really makes it realistic. Called " Antlers by Klause" I decided to send it off. Took a bit but got them back 3 weeks ago. It looks exactly like it did in real life. I sent him about 20 pictures of the rack at different angles so he matched it perfect.

Having two great friends that do taxi work is handy. Both are amazing and both like horse trading with me. Chance Love has 3 of my animals currently so sent this one to my longtime friend Tommy Pulatie who has a shop in Lampasas and is a wiz with Mulies and all big game animals. He mounts 40-50 mulies a year not including the other stuff.

This mulie was an early Sept kill so his Cape was still a summer Cape. Incredible clean hair. So he looks amazing on the form. Picture are not great as I just sat him in man cave. Will get more when hung but this will show enough for now.

There are alot of Shadows on him, he is not nearly that muscular. I noticed that in the picture also.

Also, he was huge bodied. Well over 300. Also had a huge meat head. I wore my goofy hat for good luck
