Exactly what I’ve been told. Was the 6k for surgery or hearing aids?

Unbelievable what I was missing. It reminded me when I started wearing glasses, I saw blades of grass and individual leaves on trees. Same thing. I’ve had my resounds for 3 years. Won’t ever go with out them now. Took a few weeks to get comfortable with them...just like glasses.

My Costco (Kirkland brand) Bluetooth with my phone and I’m very pleased with them. The service has been very good.

I’m using in the ear Starkey’s and they are the power hearing aids that take size 13 battery, not cheap. Has a remote to change settings between crowd, restaurant, normal, etc.

Can't remember the name of the best one I had. Don't wear it much anymore since I retired. Next one I get will be what the VA provides.

                      Costco !!!

I have been wearing a pair of the Kirkland (made by ReSound) since 2016. I paid $1700.00. When these wear out I will be getting another pair from Costco. Costco's audiologists are on salary. You are not paying a huge commission that is being split between an audiologist, a sales manager and a corporate office. Costco also takes bids from hearing aid manufactures to get the best pricing. Their pricing has actually gone down since I bought my pair in 2016.

I'm wearing Starkey's (Audibel Platinum+). Don't know what "service" Costco has, but I'd at least recommend you go see a real audiologist first and get your hearing tested, not just how many beeps you can hear but real frequency evaluation and speech evaluation. Mine were a life changer (first gen. 15+ years ago), and the ones I have now are about as natural hearing as I could imagine... I too suffer from Tinnitis and these have programming that can compensate for the tinnitis very well... I also had the custom ear molds done so they are comfortable enough to wear all day, every day, and sometimes even forget to take 'em out at night... Yea, I paid for them, but I personally think I'm getting my money's worth. Mine are controlled by my smart phone. they have no switches, dials, buttons, no nothing. not even an on/off switch... Just a #13 battery in each about every 2 weeks... There's a rechargeable version, but unless you keep a very regular schedule, I would not recommend them... IF you forget to charge them, or if you are traveling (like out at deer camp) and your schedule is irregular, when they die in the middle of the day, you're dead in the water since you cannot replace the rechargeable battery... I get a year or more supply of batteries off Amazon for 20 bucks or so... (easier than stopping in at the audiologist for "free" batteries for me).

Got my Phonaks thru the VA. No cost to me since my hearing loss is service related. They bluetooth to my cell phone and thru the infotainment in my truck.
I can also adjust each side individually from my cell phone. Doctor at VA told me these cost the VA approx $8,000. I hate wearing them but they let me hear a mouse peeing on cotton from 50 yards away. I also discovered how much I was being cussed at when she thinks I can't hear.
