    Javis are good eating to me maybe it was the way I was brought up but we make guisados, tamales and grill the loins, the way you prep them has a lot to do with the way they taste but we put them in ice water for a few hours and drain it then add milk and it definitely makes a difference

      grew up eating it, my Tia's would make Tamales and Guiso, as mentioned above. neves had to do anything like mentioned as far soaking and hanging
      perhaps the trick is a fast kill, less smell the quicker the kill
